the tile of a bathroom floor

If you read the title of the post aloud, it sounds like an Aussie saying "the tale of a bathroom floor."

Right?  Mel?

Not so much?

Anyway, I have a floor in my guest bathroom!  But thankfully I don't have any guests, because there's still no toilet in there.

But they can always go here in the basement.  It's warm and inviting.

Okay, it has toilet paper and GermEx.  And no walls.

Making decisions for the house has been nearly enough to send me to the looney bin.

And I really don't want to go back there.

But this one was easy.  We were wandering aimlessly through Menards and I spotted this tile.  I loved it instantly and we bought enough to do both the guest bath and the master bath.

That is to say, I hope we bought enough.

It's the perfect shade of gray, I love the plank look, and it's made in the USA.  What more could a girl ask for?

Well, to have it installed for one thing.

And then to have a toilet set on it for another.

The list goes on.  Anyway, here it is!

Oh wait.  Did you see that?  Look again!

A toilet!

Now if only we had a bathroom door.

****UPDATE****

My awesome friend Mel from Australia sent me this awesome video!  I just love listening to Aussies speak!

  5. Bathroom doors are overrated! They are not as necessary as a gorgeous floor... and the actual toilet!

  6. Yes, Kirby, I agree...pooping will be easier. Never could understand how people can just squat over that little hole in the floor and do their business.

ANYWAY.......beautiful floors! I'm not clear on these things....is that what they call "linoleum" tile? Or.....the other.....hard stuff.....like rock.....TILE tile.....clear as mud?

    2. See, now? that's what I love about you! You answer stoopid questions! But I'm really glad for the answer.....truly love this tile and daughter and I are planning (in the distant future) to tile a major portion of our floors and I want this!! Gonna send her a link to this so she can see. So yeah, thanks! Dona

  7. Well, at least you are making progress. The door will come and you will be more thrilled about it than you ever thought you could be about a door.

  9. I was wandering aimlessly through Menard's last weekend and I did not see this flooring! Amazing, since I was there for about 4 hours. Now I have to go back!

  10. Well I love your tiled floor even if I see you laughing at me anyway I'm going to send you a recording of me saying the tile of a bathroom floor and see if it's what you imagined.

  11. Oh it looks great Andi! I looked at this flooring myself and even took a sample of it home for my kitchen. I loved it, but could not for the life of me figure out how to transition it to my wood floor. How did you do yours?? (Inquiring minds.) I have a toilet and no sink in my 1/2 bath at the new house and the germ-x and toilet paper sit on the floor. But..hey..I have walls!

  12. I couldn't use a toilet where there aren't walls and a door and everything. I would die of needing to pee if I visited you, but it's not a problem because I don't go much of anyplace.

    Love,
    Janie

  19. Mel has NEVER sent me a personal song. I am jealous. So jealous in fact that I don't think we can be friends any longer. Unless you send me more pictures of handsome Jamie. That is the ONLY way I can forgive you for Mel for liking you more than me. p.s. super love the tile.
