mirror mirror on the floor

So, do you remember this mirror?  Of course you don't.  I've never shown it to you before, unless by accident.  It's was a CL special.

I paid extra for the peace sign, heart, and smiley face.
The garbage in the reflection wasn't free, either.

This is a quick piece that's part of a bigger, more diabolical project I have planned.
But right now we're wearing our tortoise shells rather than our hare hairs.
It might be a while.

But in the meantime, I thought I'd show you the first part.

I painted it in ASCP Old White, sanded the edges to show the detail, and then gave it a coat of clear wax.

You get it how difficult it is to take pictures of a mirror, right?  You always end up taking awkward selfies of, well, yourselfie.

And most of the time I look like THIS, so I tried to stay out of the mirror's way.

And what's up with these?

Dust Bunnies...Please fornicate elsewhere.
Like Marianne's house.
SHE has a cordless Dyson.

  1. That's beautiful. A Roomba would help with the bunnies.

    Love,

  4. How pretty Andi! Put on your hare hairs and finish that project up! I will take your dust bunnies if you will take my sheet rock dust.

  5. I hear you Danni. That drywall dust gets everywhere and is starting to suffocate my dust bunnies. Poor little (HUGE) bunnies :( BTW that is one gorgeous mirror!

  6. Trying to read between the lines... so the dresser in the background of the mirror reflection is the second part of the quick piece right?

  7. I have never used chalk paint and wax! I am going to need some serious pointers when I decide that because we didn't wax our kitchen cabinets when we painted them white that it was a serious flaw. To be fair, I had never heard of chalk paint and didn't know you waxed anything other than legs. Go pat those dust bunnies and give them some love. You wanted a new pet.

  8. WOW! Quite the difference. Sad to see the peace, love, and happiness sentiment gone, though.

  11. Funny how you see the stuff that is lying around the house the minute you bust out the camera. I usually like to turn a blind eye to dust bunnies. The mirror looks fabulous in it's new finery!

  12. It's amazing how once you painted the mirror, the stuff in the reflection got better too! I might need to try that around here! Looks fantastic!

  16. Looking good! Can't wait to see what goes with it. I'm so glad I'm not the only one with dust bunnies. With a dog and two cats in the house, if I don't vacuum every other day, I get dust horses! I think I need me a Dyson. Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week! ~Deborah

  17. This is so pretty! I love your floors, too! I am hoping to get mine some time this century. I don't have a funny comment regarding the bunnies, but I voted for my favorite reader comment above and I pick Kirby...she made me chuckle. :)

  18. So I had every intention of making you into a Flat Andi when I went to the big Dyson event, but my kid knocked out his front (adult) tooth 2 hours before I had to leave, so there went Flat Andi. Oh, and they gave me another freaking vacuum. I thought about shipping it to you for review, but then I remembered: It's a DYSON, bitches! ;) Next free one, I promise. Or maybe the one after that...

    1. I can't remember where you told me about your son but OHMYFREAKINGGOD. Yeah, Jack's on knocked out tooth #2. We've given up on saving for college and are just putting money away for future dental work.
