My original post on this sofa table made that abundantly clear. It's a really old post that some of you may not have seen, so I'm putting it out here again with some new and amazing pictures.
Well, they're new.
Phil bought this beauty back in 1980-something while I was still wearing a training bra and shooting rubber bands out of my braces.
Don't get me wrong, I don't paint everything in sight, but some things are just begging for an update. Like our fine specimen above.
And guess what? Even Phil thinks it looks better now. Kinda like when I actually put makeup on. A little spackle goes a long way.
I sanded down the flat surfaces and stained them with General Finishes Antique Walnut. At this point, they looked almost exactly the same as before, which thrilled me to no end, as you can well imagine.
I added a layer of Varathane Kona, and Eddie von Schnauzer said it looked so good he would only hike his leg on it if he really had no other choice.
Thankfully, I used three coats of General Finishes Enduro Var to protect it.
Pee away, little buddy!
I painted the body with a half/half mixture of Annie Sloan Old White and Coco, and I sealed it with soft wax. I also put on some new knobs from Hobby Lobby.
Did you see my cross-stitch? I haven't done one of those in a dang long time. That's the only way Phil remembers when our adversity day is.
You missed that one? In that case, there's another adversity day post here.
We've come a long way, baby.
Eddie says thanks for stopping by, and see you soon!
