Or mistake. Oops.
We'll just say that when I planned the makeover for all three of our ugly bedroom pieces, I miscalculated my supplies which left Nighty out in the cold...so to speak. Instead of getting the additional supplies I needed, I decided to just wing it with some paint and fabric so all three pieces wouldn't be (as the professionals say) "matchy-matchy."
And now for something completely different.
The Original Mr. Lackluster.
Remember my cute little lamp above from my lamp makeover??
I took off the hardware and went to work with some basic primer and paint.
I have no idea why I don't have a picture of the body of the nightstand primed...Just picture it kinda white-ish.
I wanted to do something fun with my drawers, so I used some leftover metallic paint from my kitchen switchplates, and my leftover drop-cloth fabric from my
DIY drapes!
Then I painted the body of the nightstand a nice creamy color, and Philly helped me put on new Oil-Rubbed Bronze hardware.
Instant gratification.
See the fabric insert? I just cut to fit and spray-mounted on before drilling the holes for the new hardware.
I actually thought it looked a little too perfect (bland), so I washed some darker paint into the "grooves" to give it a little more depth.
Before and After:
Folks, if you hate it, PAINT it!!!
I think I like this better than the other make over! Sorry! They are both beautiful but I LOVE the silver accents! I'm going to have to try this when I paint my ugly bedroom set!
