guest bathroom round two: the finale

Hello and welcome back!

If you're joining us late, you can catch up on part one of the guest bathroom HERE.

For those us who haven't already had too much to drink this morning, you might remember we left off with the vanity Phil built for The Room Where Dad Poops Every Morning.

It looks totally amazing.

But this is NOTHING compared to how this room looks now!

But first, the tile.

Phil was nosing about the Home Depot and suggested this tile, and I loved it!

That particular store didn't have enough of the tile, so he bought what they had, and went to the next Home Depot down the road, and bought the remaining batch.

And that's where the fun began.

Because the batch didn't match. At all.

I liked the lighter version, so Phil went on a 250-mile tile hunt. That is not an exaggeration. Lands, that man loves me. And wouldn't you know it? Every Home Depot he visited had only the darker version.

Oops.

In the meantime, he found a mosaic we liked even better at Lowe's. He is totally rockin' the tile choices.

This tile had the promise of adequate matching supplies from a mere two stores within a 40-mile radius, so we pledged our eternal devotion to this particular mosaic.

He was playing around using pennies as spacers between the pieces of tile. For some reason, this is all I can see now:

Phil got ready to take on the wet saw and his new supply of Groot tile.

All I did was blink, and Phil had the entire wall completed!

Of course, there were only three rows left when he ran out of Groot. Grout.

I purchased the vessel sink and faucet before we even moved into the house. You could say I had a very constipated vision for the bathroom, since it took so very long to make it happen.

They are both Kraus brand, and here's where you can find the SINK.

And the fawcett:

Holy crap, wrong faucet. But that hair.

We recycled a mirror I originally bought for the foyer, and I picked up a few other necessities I found along the way. Like this:

I was able to sell Phil on the idea of adding faux board and batten to the bathroom. It made such a HUGE difference that now I want it everywhere. Isn't he a lucky guy?

Let's take one more look at what we worked with before:

Are you ready to see the finished bathroom?

Did you see my little owls hanging out in the corner? I still have an owlbsession.

It's so gorgeous I can't stand it!

The walls were originally gray, but I painted everything white to brighten the small room.

Of course there's a clock, since I'm obsessed with clocks as well. Doesn't the board and batten look magnificent?

The best seat in the house!

I finally have some hydrangeas, so I had to find a way to sneak them in here.

I originally bought this tin for toilet-paper storage (at Gordman's), but I really like it for a garbage can. And since it has a lid, Gracie can't drag out all the disgusting treasures it might hold.

Speaking of Gracie, doesn't she look beautiful after her trip to the doggie salon?

Back to the bathroom:

Isn't is a masterpiece?

It was well worth the wait, and it's even better than I envisioned all those years ago. And my Philly came through on everything I asked for. Nailed it! Don't you agree?

Thank you so much for visiting!
