I'm not vain enough (or ridiculous enough) to pretend ALL my ideas are actually my ideas...they have to spark from something else I've seen.
But this one is a no-brainer. I TOTALLY stole this idea from Danni at Silo Hill Farm. Clearly I need a little work on my recycling skills. Thank you, Danni, for schooling me.
Danni made this totally adorable vase out of a plastic juice bottle. And guess what? For 2 whole weeks I've had an empty maple syrup bottle sitting on my kitchen counter since Philly has refused to throw it away.
Perhaps he thought it might self-refill.
Re-Phil.
Well, he thought it might be useful for...something.
I'm pretty sure he did not have "paint" or "home decor" in mind.
So, I hacked off the top with an exacto, and by some miracle, I still have all my digits. Actually, I believe have an extra one now.
I primed and spray-painted with my Caramel Latte left over from my kitchen reno. My outlet faceplates got this color, now my Little Miss Maple Surple wears it with pride.
But that's not all. I couldn't have her sitting there in all her naked glory, so I made her a little dress out of fabric from my Heaping Pile Of Fabric My Mom Gave Me Years Ago.
And yes, I also stole the button idea. Because I'm original like that.
And I'm not D'awesome (Danni+awesome) enough to make my own paper flowers. So, I bought a little bunch at Gordmans while I was shopping for jeans since my rear-end has gotten away from me over the winter. Yikes.
I'm wondering if I made my jug a little too country. Now, don't get me wrong...I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool. And yes, I was DYING DYING DYING for this hairdo when I was 18. And no, I could never find a hairdresser who could make it happen.
Oh, the two-stepping and line dancing...and big hair...
I still want that hair. Definitely not for public consumption, but in the privacy of my own powder room....

Your flower vase is lovely! I'm thrilled that I could inspire you! I'm warning you though, once you go down this road, it's hard to throw stuff away without thinking whether or not you can make something out of it. I'll also warn you that the end of that road may be the TV show "Hoarders"!!! Thanks for the shout-out!
